Sunday Thoughts #3 // LA Arboretum

Sunday Thoughts #3 // LA Arboretum

It’s not quite Sunday but it’s been a little quieter here on my blog than I’d like, so I’m sharing some thoughts/updates! The photos are from our recent visit to Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanical Garden, located in Arcadia. It’s known for its free roaming peacocks. I had visited previously in high school, but that was before I lived in the middle of the chaos that is LA city, so I didn’t appreciate how peaceful and well-maintained the arboretum is. If you live in LA I’d highly recommend a visit! But anyway, here’s some randomness:¬† Movies //¬†Every January and…

My LA Winter Uniform

My LA Winter Uniform

Despite all the sales, I haven’t been buying a lot of new clothing pieces lately, which usually automatically warrants a new outfit blog post. However, there has been one outfit that I’ve been wanting to share – this classic, simplistic “winter” outfit that’s effortless to throw on and looks polished. It composes of: a neutral sweater or top, relaxed jeans, black booties, and a trench coat (same one as featured in this post). I’ve worn this outfit quite a few times now. It’s the closest thing to a “winter” uniform. Normally I wear it with a thin sweater; but yesterday…

Three Sundays

Three Sundays

December does not bring snow here in California but it doesn’t diminish the holiday spirits. I’ve been a little behind on my blog this month because I’ve been spending extra time with friends whenever I could. I love that even though everyone’s busy, the holiday season brightens everyone’s moods and making plans becomes easier than ever. On each of the three Sundays of this month so far, I spent all day with friends exploring both SD and LA. I took my Olympus Pen around to for interesting snaps and spontaneous photo shoots. Each day didn’t quite have enough content for…

Pinafore Dress at Getty Center

Pinafore Dress at Getty Center

Last time I was at the Getty Center, the entire sky was black and orange. A huge fire in the mountains had transformed West LA into a scene from an post-apocalypse movie. This time around our experience couldn’t have been more different. We got there a little after 3, so parking was discounted from $15 to $10. There weren’t nearly as many people so parking also took almost no time either. The sky was beyond clear, the air was fresh, and the temperature was just right. We ventured to some parts of the center that we hadn’t been before to…

His and Her Outfits – Styling Each Other

His and Her Outfits – Styling Each Other

Recently I was inspired by YouTube’s “boyfriend buys my outfits” videos, but instead of just having my boyfriend buy me something, I thought it would be more interesting if I also picked out an outfit for him as well. I’ve always thought he has a great sense of fashion. He would point out pieces that he thinks would look good on me, but they are often quite unique and different than my usual style; so I was intrigued to see what he would choose for me. On the other hand, I love that he’s not afraid to wear bold prints…

On Day in LA – 5 Things I Did Alone

On Day in LA – 5 Things I Did Alone

If you’ve read my blog before (especially this post and this post), or know me in real life, of course, then you’d know I love spending some alone time. However, that’s not to say that I’m completely at ease with it. Even though I know I enjoy it, it still feels daunting sometimes and the temptation to just bum it at home can be strong. It’s kind of like exercising, you just have to get yourself to do it because it’s good for you. I had my apartment to myself last weekend and I decided to spend it productively. On…
