The Chunky Knit

The Chunky Knit

The weather has finally taken a turn for the colder in LA and I’m beyond excited! The lead up to Christmas is probably my favorite time of the year and wearing shorts and sandals just doesn’t feel right. Plus the eternal 72-degree weather gets pretty boring. To get ready for colder weather and an exciting upcoming trip to a place with real winter (stay tuned :p), I have been doing some shopping. One of the new additions to my wardrobe is an orange chunky cable knit sweater from Urban Outfitters. It’s oversized but has a v neck so it’s not at…

Florida Lookbook

Florida Lookbook

When I was little I’d get so excited over a trip that I would start packing two WEEKS in advance. It’s absurd. Through years of experience I’ve become quite the pro at packing. I can finish everything in an hour or two tops, rolling and placing everything in the most convenient, efficient, and TSA-friendly fashion. What I spend the longest during packing is of course, outfit planning. There is a lot to think about: Space. I don’t like to bring too much stuff because well.. I’m the one who’s going to have to carry it. Therefore I like the bring…

The Chore Coat

The Chore Coat

Recently I got my hands on Levi’s Chore Coat on sale from Urban Outfitters and I have NOT been able to stop wearing it. It’s no secret that denim jackets are super versatile but I seriously love this one. It looks a bit utilitarian , has big cozy pockets, and pretty much looks good on everything – keeping dresses looking casual while pulling a simple t-shirt-and-shorts outfit together.  Underneath the jacket, I have on an adorable shirt from Truly Deeply Madly that I also snatched from the same Urban sale. Their shirts are really comfortable and easy to wear. I wouldn’t…

One Year

One Year

Today’s the day! My blog has officially turned ONE YEAR OLD. I’m a big fan of birthdays and this one is special. I have high expectations for myself in everything that I set my mind to, but things don’t always pan out the way I plan (of course). Through the ups and downs of the past year, however, I have even surprised myself by how important my blog has become to me and how much effort I’m willing to put into it. It has become a constant in my life and I have no intention of stopping now. It only…

A Moroccan Dream in California

A Moroccan Dream in California

No, I am not rich enough, spontaneous enough or free enough to jet away to Morocco any time I please, but there is a place just two hours away that is pretty much the same. Whenever there are big changes in my life, whether it be moves, graduation or a new job, I like to go on a trip during the transition period. I find that the excitement of escaping to an unfamiliar place and the disorientation after returning really help me deal with any anxiety or uncertainty that inevitably comes with big life changes. Recently my boyfriend moved to…

A Night at Rick Owens

A Night at Rick Owens

Once in a while I get to go to super cool events that seem highly exclusive. 90% of the time I’m invited by my fabulous friend Jessica. Last night’s cocktail party at the Rick Owens Store on La Brea was no exception. The event was to celebrate Rick Owens’ friend Chris Brock’s pottery collection. I had never been in the store before – it’s large, airy, and completely stunning. My friends and I marveled at his gorgeous clothes all night while catching up with each other’s busy lives. To top it off, there were free drinks and appetizers served by the…
