The Sky Blue Sweater

The Sky Blue Sweater

I saw a gorgeous sky blue sweater in a blog post a few months ago and have been wanting one ever since (ah the power of bloggers). Finally I found the perfect one in this Mango one with fluffy sleeves and wanted to share it with you. It’s a little darker than the sky blue I had in mind but I absolutely adore it and have worn it many times already. It’s extremely comfortable and the price point makes it all the better. One way I’ve been wearing the sweater has been with some black jeans that I got from…

25 Moments

25 Moments

Earlier this month I celebrated my 25th birthday. Two years ago I made an epic blog post for my 23rd birthday – 23 cities I’ve been. It took a lot of time digging up old photos from each city and the blog post still remains one that I’m most proud of. Last year I did a general reflection (read here), so naturally I wanted to write something special this year as well. 25… people? songs? facts? Eventually I landed on¬†moments: small, fleeting seconds in life that have stayed with me and when recalled, transport me back to exactly that moment…

My LA Winter Uniform

My LA Winter Uniform

Despite all the sales, I haven’t been buying a lot of new clothing pieces lately, which usually automatically warrants a new outfit blog post. However, there has been one outfit that I’ve been wanting to share – this classic, simplistic “winter” outfit that’s effortless to throw on and looks polished. It composes of: a neutral sweater or top, relaxed jeans, black booties, and a trench coat (same one as featured in this post). I’ve worn this outfit quite a few times now. It’s the closest thing to a “winter” uniform. Normally I wear it with a thin sweater; but yesterday…

California Coast Road Trip – Christmas 2017

California Coast Road Trip – Christmas 2017

My family loves a good road trip (read about our trips to Sedona and Norcal). We don’t really like to plan things too early so everything stays pretty spontaneous and relaxed. For Christmas this year, we went on a short trip to visit Hearst Castle, located along the coast of central California, about four hours from Los Angeles. Even though the trip was only three days, we hit a lot of spots. I’m going to share a few highlights here but we also got to observe elephant seals and visit San Luis Obispo, among other things. I hope you enjoy…

Three Sundays

Three Sundays

December does not bring snow here in California but it doesn’t diminish the holiday spirits. I’ve been a little behind on my blog this month because I’ve been spending extra time with friends whenever I could. I love that even though everyone’s busy, the holiday season brightens everyone’s moods and making plans becomes easier than ever. On each of the three Sundays of this month so far, I spent all day with friends exploring both SD and LA. I took my Olympus Pen around to for interesting snaps and spontaneous photo shoots. Each day didn’t quite have enough content for…

Zzyzx – Abandoned Desert Oasis

Zzyzx – Abandoned Desert Oasis

Zzyzx, formerly Soda Springs, is an unincorporated area in the Mojave Desert. The word “zzyzx” is named as such by Curtis Howe Springer because he wanted it to be the last word in the dictionary. A skim through his Wikipedia page¬†quickly paints a picture of the kind of person he was. He opened a spa in the area but later got into multiple legal disputes with the government, and the spa eventually became abandoned. As a part of a road trip back from Las Vegas, we stopped by Zzyzx to see what it’s all about. After a couple days in…
