Silk & Stripes

I like to buy pieces, not outfits; but when a sudden spark of inspiration puts a few of my favorite pieces together perfectly… well, let’s just say it’s an exciting moment. This particular outfit features a couple of especially special buys – the Scotch and Soda blazer and the silk cami from Cami NYC. I’ve had a thing for blazers since I was much younger because they’re extremely versatile. It can be the standout piece of both a professional outfit and a night-out outfit, and there aren’t many other clothing items that can do that. I snatched this striped blazer on sale at their store on Abbot Kinney back in August but have kind of struggled with styling it – it’s lengthy and bolder than other blazers I’ve owned. The silk cami, on the other hand, was actually a much bigger splurge in spite of some discounts. But I just think the silk/satin cami look is such an classy and amazing trend that it was worth it to invest in something high quality. It’s a racer back and the lace details on the front make me feel sophisticated and feminine.

The other pieces in this outfit include: an embellished choker from Zara, Topshop booties, and a lovely denim skirt gifted to me by my dear friend Koki.
