The weather has finally taken a turn for the colder in LA and I’m beyond excited! The lead up to Christmas is probably my favorite time of the year and wearing shorts and sandals just doesn’t feel right. Plus the eternal 72-degree weather gets pretty boring.
To get ready for colder weather and an exciting upcoming trip to a place with real winter (stay tuned :p), I have been doing some shopping. One of the new additions to my wardrobe is an orange chunky cable knit sweater from Urban Outfitters. It’s oversized but has a v neck so it’s not at all shapeless, and yes, it’s just as cozy and warm as it looks. I paired it with jeans from a Turkish brand called Mavi and some cream ankle boots from Zara.
Unlike many other weekends, I spent the day walking around downtown Santa Monica. Just steps away from the hustle and bustle of the pier and the promenade, there is a lovely park called Tongva Park. It’s a beautifully designed urban oasis that was just constructed a few years ago. I’ve been there a couple of times now and it’s hard to believe how empty it is compared to the rest of Santa Monica because it’s absolute gem. I HIGHLY recommend it, especially around sunset.
What’s your favorite new piece for the winter?
