You really don’t know what you’ve got until you’ve lost it. Okay, that’s a little too melodramatic, but I’ve never appreciated the beauty of San Diego as much as I do now that I can’t spend more than a couple days there every month.
As a mostly inactive person, I could never fully take advantage of San Diego as an outdoor activity paradise, but for the gorgeous views, I am willing to make some effort. One of the most convenient little hikes for UCSD students is the trail down to Black’s Beach from Gliderport in La Jolla. It’s literally across the street from campus and takes no longer than 10-15 minutes to get down to the sand. I’m sure for a lot of people it’s merely a leisurely stroll, but for me it’s quite an effective workout. Last weekend my boyfriend and I went first thing in the morning. It was so refreshing – the perfect the way to start a day and also the perfect excuse for a feast after.
