Last night I was lucky enough to try one of the best steakhouses in San Diego, Donovan’s. Of course, what I was more excited about was the opportunity to dress up. I got my dress over a year ago from London. Even when I bought it, I knew I wanted to wear it on NYE, because there’s simply no better occasion to wear a sparkly dress. It’s low cut but not too short, so it’s still really classy, just the way I like it. I paired it with silver hoop earrings and some nude heels.
It’s crazy how fast time is passing by, and suddenly 2015 is gone. I always used to lament the loss of time, and grab onto things that should’ve been left as precious memories of the past. That’s no way to live. I don’t make new year resolutions, but learning to enjoy each moment as it comes is definitely a work in progress for me, not just for 2016, but for life. My 2015 wasn’t as eventful and exciting as 2014, but it was a year full of personal growth. I learned a lot about myself, became more confident, but also saw my flaws more clearly. Life taught me a lot of lessons, one of which is the importance of finding happiness from within. My happiness shouldn’t, and can’t, depend on whether I can afford something I want or whether I get a certain job. Of course, I am always working on being a better person, friend, daughter, and partner, but life is a whirlwind of surprises and changes, so I can’t let anyone or anything determine my self worth. I am the only one who can do that.
So, here’s to a new year full of growth and happiness. 2016, I’m ready for you.
