When I was little I’d get so excited over a trip that I would start packing two WEEKS in advance. It’s absurd. Through years of experience I’ve become quite the pro at packing. I can finish everything in an hour or two tops, rolling and placing everything in the most convenient, efficient, and TSA-friendly fashion. What I spend the longest during packing is of course, outfit planning. There is a lot to think about: Space. I don’t like to bring too much stuff because well.. I’m the one who’s going to have to carry it. Therefore I like the bring…

Thanksgiving is hands down the most important holiday to be with family (other than Chinese holidays for me, of course). Though my family values the time we spend together, we don’t care much for holiday conventions, so we ditched homemade turkeys and stuffing and hit the road to Key West, Florida. Now if I’m going to be honest, I’ve always thought of Florida as a lesser California: they’re both have endless beaches and palms, except Florida is way hotter, wetter and full of alligators. Key West, however, is definitely my favorite spot in Florida that I’ve been by far. The…

Last weekend I visited two of the coolest buildings in alllll of Los Angeles – The Broad and Walt Disney Concert Hall. Though both are impressive, they’re unique in completely contrasting ways, and not unintentionally. The Broad is porous and angled while Walt Disney Concert Hall is smooth and fluid. The main reason that brought me to the area was the Broad. Since its opening in September 2015, its popularity never ceased. Tickets are free but require advanced online reservation or lining up for hours (allegedly). There are few things I hate more than standing in long lines, but I…

Sunday is quickly becoming my favorite day of the week. After a long week of hard work, I am usually eager to do something fun with my friends on Saturday, but that usually requires a bit of planning and a lot of energy. Sundays, however, are a day when I truly get to relax. And since I enjoy my job, the thought of having to get up for work the next day doesn’t fill the second half of my Sunday with dread like school did when I was younger. One of my recent favorite activities is going biking along the…

Recently I got my hands on Levi’s Chore Coat on sale from Urban Outfitters and I have NOT been able to stop wearing it. It’s no secret that denim jackets are super versatile but I seriously love this one. It looks a bit utilitarian , has big cozy pockets, and pretty much looks good on everything – keeping dresses looking casual while pulling a simple t-shirt-and-shorts outfit together.  Underneath the jacket, I have on an adorable shirt from Truly Deeply Madly that I also snatched from the same Urban sale. Their shirts are really comfortable and easy to wear. I wouldn’t…

Today’s the day! My blog has officially turned ONE YEAR OLD. I’m a big fan of birthdays and this one is special. I have high expectations for myself in everything that I set my mind to, but things don’t always pan out the way I plan (of course). Through the ups and downs of the past year, however, I have even surprised myself by how important my blog has become to me and how much effort I’m willing to put into it. It has become a constant in my life and I have no intention of stopping now. It only…

No, I am not rich enough, spontaneous enough or free enough to jet away to Morocco any time I please, but there is a place just two hours away that is pretty much the same. Whenever there are big changes in my life, whether it be moves, graduation or a new job, I like to go on a trip during the transition period. I find that the excitement of escaping to an unfamiliar place and the disorientation after returning really help me deal with any anxiety or uncertainty that inevitably comes with big life changes. Recently my boyfriend moved to…

Once in a while I get to go to super cool events that seem highly exclusive. 90% of the time I’m invited by my fabulous friend Jessica. Last night’s cocktail party at the Rick Owens Store on La Brea was no exception. The event was to celebrate Rick Owens’ friend Chris Brock’s pottery collection. I had never been in the store before – it’s large, airy, and completely stunning. My friends and I marveled at his gorgeous clothes all night while catching up with each other’s busy lives. To top it off, there were free drinks and appetizers served by the…
