When it comes to vacation destinations, I’m a pretty mainstream person. I’m drawn to all the universally liked tourist havens – Europe, the Caribbean, New York City… But when it comes to picking accommodation, that’s when my philosophy differ from many family members and friends I know. To me the places that I stay at is almost just as important as the activities I do and the sights I see. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I stayed at terrible and dirty motels when I went on trips that I didn’t plan. In fact my immediate family agreed with…

As Bank of America card holders, we get to visit LACMA for free during the first weekend of every month, and we finally took advantage of this sweet deal this past Saturday. I’ve gone to LACMA a lot more times than I’ve actually entered the exhibits. I’ve met up with friends at the cafe there, taken walks around the buildings and the Tar Pits, and even attended a free jazz concert in October. Like the Getty Center (which I visited in July and wrote about here), the LACMA experience is more than just the art pieces themselves. But of course,…

When you think of London, probably at least some of these things will pop into your mind: Big Ben, double-decker buses, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, the Underground… All these things do a fine job representing London, but to me, one of the absolute best things about the city is its parks. Despite being an extremely tight-quartered metropolitan city, London has green spaces of various sizes that used to be royal hunting grounds or private gardens for residents that later opened to the public. They are magical slices of heaven that immediately block out the bustle and noise of…

I like to buy pieces, not outfits; but when a sudden spark of inspiration puts a few of my favorite pieces together perfectly… well, let’s just say it’s an exciting moment. This particular outfit features a couple of especially special buys – the Scotch and Soda blazer and the silk cami from Cami NYC. I’ve had a thing for blazers since I was much younger because they’re extremely versatile. It can be the standout piece of both a professional outfit and a night-out outfit, and there aren’t many other clothing items that can do that. I snatched this striped blazer…

Having a birthday so close to New Year’s is convenient for an over-thinker like me. I could reflect on the past calendar year as well my own year once and for all and be ready to take on a new year. 2016/23 was an important year for me – I moved a few times, traveled some, met new people and grew up a ton. Florida Keys Career  The gravity of the changes in my professional life is self explanatory. In February, specifically on Super Bowl day, I packed up my car and moved to the “City of Angels”. I made…

I haven’t lived in California all my life, but long enough that I know almost nothing about winter fashion. My idea of dressing warmly lingers from my childhood and mostly involves thermal pants and puffy jackets – very limited and not particularly fashionable. Of course, it didn’t take long for me to discover the exciting of world of fall/winter fashion as I observed stylish Londoners strutting up and down the tube during my 3-month stay in 2014. During my recent 10-day trip, I was a lot prepared than last time. I mostly stuck with classic pieces – turtleneck sweaters, skinny…

I’ve spent the last ten days in my favorite city, with my favorite person, during the most wonderful time of the year. Can life get better? Certainly seems not. London is always magical but especially around Christmas time. All the streets are lit up and there is festive energy in every corner. There are plenty of activities to do leading up to Christmas – the numerous Christmas markets, shopping, ice skating… but our favorite thing to do is probably just walking around the streets and parks to soak up all the festivity. From Oxford Street to Covent Garden to St.…

The weather has finally taken a turn for the colder in LA and I’m beyond excited! The lead up to Christmas is probably my favorite time of the year and wearing shorts and sandals just doesn’t feel right. Plus the eternal 72-degree weather gets pretty boring. To get ready for colder weather and an exciting upcoming trip to a place with real winter (stay tuned :p), I have been doing some shopping. One of the new additions to my wardrobe is an orange chunky cable knit sweater from Urban Outfitters. It’s oversized but has a v neck so it’s not at…
