Living in a Big City

Living in LA, one of the topics I think of a lot is well… what it’s like to live in LA. I’ve lived in several big cities in my life – Beijing, London, LA. I can’t say much about living in Beijing because I was too young to be autonomous, but I have noticed so many similarities between London and LA, two cities that can hardly be more different than each other. London is dense, ancient, and rainy while LA…

Pastel Pink

Summer’s really here! The weather was boiling hot today, even at 9am at Santa Monica Beach. When the ocean breeze is not even enough to stop your sweating, you know it’s time to welcome easy outfits and summer nights. We went on a walk at UCLA today for these photos, and it wasn’t until I came back that I realized that I had already worn a similar outfit on my trip to Florida last year. But who cares! If it…

York, England

This post is long overdue as it’s officially been over half a year since my 2016 Christmas trip to the UK. There’s no shortage of posts about that trip – I’ve shared Christmas in London, a winter look, a roundup of my favorite parks in London, the hotels I stayed in England, and a some snaps from East London. Just because there’s already been somewhat of an overload of UK travel posts, however, does not mean that York doesn’t deserve its…

Sunday in La Jolla

I. freakin’. love. San Diego. It’s just the perfect place. And I miss the good old days when I lived alone on Torrey Pines Rd, a 15 minute walk away from La Jolla Shores. That’s also when I started this blog so I whipped up lots of content about SD. I photographed and wrote about places from Mission Bay to Windansea to Point Loma… Even though those posts were shorter and less time consuming, they were some real gems to me. Nostalgia aside, now I know…

The Perfect Embroidered Dress

Yesterday I got to dress up for a company event that I was super excited for. I had bought this dress (Lush) on a whim from a boutique in Los Feliz a couple months ago, but never wore it. It turned out to be perfect for the occasion because it was classy and comfortable. I felt really feminine in it and got lots of compliments. I paired it with some Cathy Jean nude sandals and a Miu Miu bag. Sunglasses…

Breakfast for One // A Few Books

Recently the bf and I have been living pretty different schedules, so I’ve been taking advantage of waking early to get breakfast by myself, and it’s absolutely refreshing. One Sunday morning I went to Spazzio Cafe in Brentwood, makeup-free and a book in hand and enjoyed a ham and avocado crepe (they make the best crepes!) and a steamy latte. Then I spontaneously decided to drive to the beach and read on a bench in Palisades Park, overlooking the ocean…

Hello, Summer

Happy Memorial Day! Apparently, this day marks the first day of summer and also the first day that we can wear white. There’s absolutely no sense in this rule, but I went ahead and wore white anyways since it’s one of my favorite colors. I got this white shirt dress at Urban Outfitters about a month ago. It’s pretty sheer so I bought it thinking I could wear it more as a cover up for breezy summer outfits. I think…

A Walk in Larchmont Village

Yesterday I had one of those perfect Saturdays. The day already started off well when I woke up at 8:30am. I used to sleep in until 12 or 1pm on weekends and that always left me feeling lethargic and unproductive. So now that I’ve realized how much nicer a day can turn out when I have an early start, I’m making quite an effort to become more of a morning person. After getting ready, I went to meet up with…
