Spring – Not Here Just Yet

It has been a very cold and windy week here in Los Angeles – I’m talking as low as 39 degrees (around 4 degrees Celsius) at night. It has caught me by surprise as I thought spring’s just around the corner and I’ve already been thinking about summer dresses and sandals. My trusty All Saints leather jacket has been a staple but even that hasn’t totally kept me warm this week. Thankfully I have a cozy Karen Millen jacket with…

Sunday Thoughts #3 // LA Arboretum

It’s not quite Sunday but it’s been a little quieter here on my blog than I’d like, so I’m sharing some thoughts/updates! The photos are from our recent visit to Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanical Garden, located in Arcadia. It’s known for its free roaming peacocks. I had visited previously in high school, but that was before I lived in the middle of the chaos that is LA city, so I didn’t appreciate how peaceful and well-maintained the arboretum…

An Alternative Valentine’s Day Look (and Attitude)

Nowadays it seems that every holiday is merely a retail opportunity. Red clothing and accessories are being pushed to the forefront in major LA department stores for imminent Chinese New Year celebrations. These are not to be confused with Valentine’s Day sales, of course, as these items are displayed underneath red lanterns, red envelopes, and well wishes written in Chinese calligraphy. There are a lot of holidays I love and look forward to, but there are some that I could…

The Sky Blue Sweater

I saw a gorgeous sky blue sweater in a blog post a few months ago and have been wanting one ever since (ah the power of bloggers). Finally I found the perfect one in this Mango one with fluffy sleeves and wanted to share it with you. It’s a little darker than the sky blue I had in mind but I absolutely adore it and have worn it many times already. It’s extremely comfortable and the price point makes it…

25 Moments

Earlier this month I celebrated my 25th birthday. Two years ago I made an epic blog post for my 23rd birthday – 23 cities I’ve been. It took a lot of time digging up old photos from each city and the blog post still remains one that I’m most proud of. Last year I did a general reflection (read here), so naturally I wanted to write something special this year as well. 25… people? songs? facts? Eventually I landed on moments:…

My LA Winter Uniform

Despite all the sales, I haven’t been buying a lot of new clothing pieces lately, which usually automatically warrants a new outfit blog post. However, there has been one outfit that I’ve been wanting to share – this classic, simplistic “winter” outfit that’s effortless to throw on and looks polished. It composes of: a neutral sweater or top, relaxed jeans, black booties, and a trench coat (same one as featured in this post). I’ve worn this outfit quite a few…

California Coast Road Trip – Christmas 2017

My family loves a good road trip (read about our trips to Sedona and Norcal). We don’t really like to plan things too early so everything stays pretty spontaneous and relaxed. For Christmas this year, we went on a short trip to visit Hearst Castle, located along the coast of central California, about four hours from Los Angeles. Even though the trip was only three days, we hit a lot of spots. I’m going to share a few highlights here…

Three Sundays

December does not bring snow here in California but it doesn’t diminish the holiday spirits. I’ve been a little behind on my blog this month because I’ve been spending extra time with friends whenever I could. I love that even though everyone’s busy, the holiday season brightens everyone’s moods and making plans becomes easier than ever. On each of the three Sundays of this month so far, I spent all day with friends exploring both SD and LA. I took…
